AS Monaco has announced that point guard Matthew Strazel has signed a four-year contract extension.

The French international, who joined the club in 2022, has become an important part of the team’s rotation and will remain with the Roca Team through the next phase of its project.

Strazel, a silver medalist at the Paris Olympic Games, is preparing for his second Final Four appearance, this time under coach Vassilis Spanoulis.

He commented on his decision to put pen to paper with Monaco:

I feel at home here in Monaco. That’s all I’ve ever wanted — to find a home, with an organization and a club that’s ambitious. The management is willing to invest in me, and that’s why I decided to sign a new contract. I want to keep moving forward and improving, both individually and collectively with this team. I can’t wait to continue and see what the club becomes in the years to come.”

This season, Matthew Strazel averaged 8.4 points and 2.4 assists in 39 EuroLeague appearances.
