ABU DHABI (UAE) – Coach Giorgos Bartzokas didn’t try to hide his disappointment after the failure of Olympiacos to make it to the EuroLeague Final.

As he said, “It’s a very painful loss, because of the way that it happened. We should have played the game that we play, I think that the whole season. We had the most assists per game during the season, and today we had 10”.

Of course, a factor for that was Monaco’s defense, however, Bartzokas believes that his team bent under the pressure of being the favorite: “The whole game we were in pursuit of the score, except Fournier, all the other players made one three in 19 attempts.  So obvious that we were under big-time pressure. We couldn’t handle the pressure. We couldn’t calm down. We couldn’t control our feelings”.

Bartzokas used as an example the fact that Evan Fournier scored 31 points, but his team lost.

As he said, “We should have been playing more together, sharing the ball. We scored 68 points and one player scored 30 points, and that’s completely wrong”.
