ABU DHABI – Following losing efforts in the Semifinals of the Final Four of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, Greek clubs Olympiacos and Panathinaikos are set to face each other in a third-place game.
Before Sunday’s meeting of the eternal rivals, supporters of both clubs clashed on the stands of Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena.
Thankfully, due to the quick intervention of security, the incident did not escalate.

Starting the championship-crowning tournament on Friday, the Greens fell to Fenerbache Beko and the Reds to AS Monaco. As defending champions and top seed of the 2024-25 Regular Season, they were widely considered favorites to reach the championship game and shape the first-ever all-Greek Final, but instead settled in a consolation contest.
In an intriguing quick turnaround, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos will rematch on Friday, in Game 1 of a best-of-five series for the Stoiximan GBL championship. The next domestic installment of the eternal derby will be held in OAKA Altion.
