ABU DHABI— Sarunas Jasikevicius is a basketball icon, especially in his home country, Lithuania, and Jonas Valanciunas, who attended the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four, was more than happy to share his joy of winning the EuroLeague as Fenerbahce coach.
“I’m very, very happy for him, I think he really deserved this, and he put so much work into the basketball in general”, Valanciunas said to Eurohoops during Fenerbahce‘s celebrations.
The Lithuanian big man practically grew up watching Saras the player, and now he roots for Saras the coach: “I support him from day one in basketball”.
Speaking about the EuroLeague champions, Valanciunas added: “They are a team, they are connected, and I was very happy to watch this game”.
