Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos was ejected at the start of Game 2 of the Greek League Finals, and according to Olympiacos, his arrest was ordered by the local public prosecutor.
After his ejection, which Panathinaikos debated whether it happened, Giannakopoulos stayed near the locker rooms of the arena, protesting against insulting chants about him and his daughter.
According to Panathinaikos, that was the reason he left the court in the first place, and not an ejection.

However, according to Olympiacos, “the prosecutor ordered the arrest of Dimitris Giannakopoulos, and he ran away from the locker room to avoid arrest with the police chasing him.”
Panathinaikos also denied this information, saying that “Dimitris Giannakopoulos was never informed about the possibility of his arrest and he left the arena on his own, because the whole gym was insulting him and his daughter and nobody did a thing to stop this”.
After the end of the game, Olympiacos owners Panagiotis and Giorgos Aggelopoulos stated that Giannakopoulos made the middle finger gesture before being removed from the court, and Olympiacos is suing Giannakopoulos who is now according to Greek law wanted for arrest and immediate procedure for the next 48 hours.
They also stated: “Giannakopoulos is vomit. He said that he will rape Giorgos’ daughter and he will make him watch. He can’t be a part of sports”.
