A veteran of 56 games in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, separated by two seasons from his last appearance, Dwayne Bacon is nearing a return and a deal with upstart Dubai.
The EuroLeague newcomers have already been linked to several household names, including Aleksa Avramovic, looking to make an immediate impact in the 2025-26 journey.
Bacon, 29, emerged as the latest candidate to join the team guided by Jurica Golemac for the next season, according to Serbian outlet Telesport.
Introducing himself to the EuroLeague, the former Florida State standout played for AS Monaco in the 2021-22 season. In 2022-23, he moved his talents to Panathinaikos. A lack of European club continental competitions over the next two seasons, his career went from China and Puerto Rico to Russia. With Zenit in the VTB United League, he was named Most Valuable Player of the 2024-25 Regular Season, after tallying 16.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.8 steals per contest over 42 appearances, before settling for second place with the Saint Petersburg outfit in the Playoffs.
Prior to expanding his career overseas, the native of Lakeland, Florida, logged 207 games played in the NBA from 2017 to 2021, spread between three years with the Charlotte Hornets and one with the Orlando Magic. Coming out of the Seminoles as a member of the Second Team of the All-Atlantic Coast Conference, he was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans with the 40th pick in 2017 and then traded to the Hornets.
