Two days after the end of the season, Olympiacos is about to make a big transfer move by keeping Nikola Milutinov in the roster with a 2+1 contract.
Despite a huge financial offer from Panathinaikos, multiple Eurohoops sources confirm that the Serbian big man, who returned to Belgrade today, is leaning toward a contract extension with his current club.
The Aggelopoulos brothers presented an offer of 6,5M euros net total, more than the initial projections, while Panathinaikos offer including bonuses was 9M euros.
The only remaining competitor to Olympiacos at this point is Milan, which has expressed its interest in the player and had advanced talks with him.
Milutinov didn’t consider the offer of Panathinaikos, despite it being financially better due to his connection with Olympiacos.
And ultimately, this connection and the push made also by his teammates and close friends over the last 24 hours seem to have made a difference, which can be officialized soon.
During the 2024-25 EuroLeague season, which ended with Olympiacos being third at the Final Four in Abu Dhabi, the 31-year-old center has collected 8.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game with Olympiacos.
Nikola Milutinov joined Olympiacos in the summer of 2023 after being away from Greece for three years, at CSKA Moscow from 2020 to 2023. Previously, he represented Partizan Belgrade from 2012 to 2015 and had a first stint with the red-and-white Greek powerhouse from 2015 to 2020.
