Sports Director Manos Papadopoulos is leaving Zenit BC upon the expiration of his contract, as officially announced by the Russian club.
After five years, he departs the Saint Petersburg club and is expected to return to the EuroLeague with Hapoel Tel Aviv, as Eurohoops sources confirm
“We sincerely thank Manos for his contribution to the club’s development, his professionalism, and dedication over the past five years. We wish him every success in his future career,” Zenit announced.
Papadopoulos is set to reunite with Dimitris Itoudis at Hapoel, after previously working together at Panathinaikos.
During his tenure at Zenit, the club won the VTB United League, two VTB Super Cups, four Kondrashin and Belov Cups, and the Russian Cup. In the EuroLeague, Zenit had its best season under his leadership in 2021, reaching Game 5 of the quarterfinals against Barcelona—just one win away from the Final Four—after finishing last the previous year.
