Olympiacos Piraeus and swingman Shaq McKissic met regarding the player’s future with the team.
The meeting went well and according to sources both sides expressed their willingness to continue together.
There’s no deal yet but it seems that the 34-year-old McKissic is close to renewing his contract with Olympiacos.
The financial aspect of the deal won’t be a problem since both Olympiacos and McKissic are expected to reach an agreement. The player wants to stay with the team on a two-year deal.
McKissic averaged 7.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in the 2024-25 EuroLeague as Olympiacos made the Final Four for the fourth consecutive season. He had a key presence in the Greek League Finals with a game-high 20 points in the Game 4 victory over Panathinaikos Athens as Olympiacos won the series 3-1 to claim the championship title.
Advanced talks with Karagiannidis
Meanwhile, Olympiacos is in advanced talks with Promitheas Patras for the acquisition of center Antonis Karagiannidis. The 23-year-old big man doesn’t have a buyout in his contract with Promitheas and may stay with the team on loan if acquired by the Reds.
