Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv have officially announced the departure of Marcus Foster, who will not return to the club next season.
The 30-year-old guard was on an expiring contract and leaves after helping the Israeli team capture the 2023–24 BTK EuroCup title and advance to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
“Thank you very much, Marcus! You were much more than just a player – a true professional, a winner at heart, and a special person. Thank you for all the unforgettable moments, and of course, for that basket we will never forget,” the club said in an emotional farewell message. “You will always be part of the Hapoel Tel Aviv family.”

Foster was a key figure in Hapoel’s title-winning campaign, averaging 13.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists over 24 EuroCup games, including 16 starts. He previously led Rytas Vilnius to the Lithuanian League championship in 2023, earning Finals MVP honors for his performances against EuroLeague side Zalgiris Kaunas.
After playing college basketball at Kansas State and Creighton, Foster began his professional career in South Korea with Wonju DB Promy. Since then, he has suited up for a number of teams around the globe, including stints in Lebanon, Israel, Greece, Turkey, China, and the NBA G League.
