Only two days, Giuseppe Poeta concluded a historic season with Pallacanestro Brescia, leading the blue-and-white Italian side to their first-ever LBA Finals, losing 3-0 to Virtus Bologna.
It was his first head coaching campaign, as he previously left Milan in the summer of 2024 to replace Alessandro Magro on Brescia’s bench. Now, the past could transform into the present and future for him.
According to Sky Sport, Peppe Poeta is set to make his return to the red-and-white side as once again assistant coach on Ettore Messina’s coaching staff, being promised an upgrade for the 2026-27 season.
At the end of the 2025-26 campaign, the former playmaker and promising Italian head coach, per the same report, will replace the legendary head coach on Milan’s bench.
With Brescia, Giuseppe Poeta had a 22-8 record during the LBA Regular Season, beating Pallacanestro Trieste in the Quarter-Finals and Trapani Shark in the Semi-Finals.
Ettore Messina’s team, after not challenging for the EuroLeague Play-Ins or Playoffs, got eliminated 3-1 in the Semi-Finals by Virtus Bologna, which eventually won the Scudetto with a 3-0 sweep over Brescia.
