Bouncing back in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Itay Segev penned a three-year contract to join Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv.

The first official summer signing was announced on Thursday.

“I am happy, excited, and proud to join Hapoel Tel Aviv, especially in a historic and significant season, the debut in the Euroleague,” the 30-year-old forward welcomed his move, “I arrive motivated and with a real desire to work hard and give my all for the team’s success.”

“I can’t wait to meet the red crowd! I’m excited to get started with a group of quality players, and especially alongside Israeli friends. An exciting season awaits us, full of goals, challenges, and dreams,” he added.

The Israeli big is a veteran of 21 EuroLeague appearances with Maccabi Electra / FOX Tel Aviv between 2012 and 2018. Moving to the 2025-26 installment of Europe’s premier club continental competition and the first appearance of the fellow Tel Aviv outfit, he was placed in the new roster for head coach Dimitris Itoudis.

“We appreciate his passion for the game and the commitment he brings with him,” mentioned the 54-year-old Greek expert, “We look forward to working with him, and together, as a professional team and as teammates, to help him develop and further improve his abilities.”

Since his departure from Maccabi, Segev went from Maccabi Rishon LeZion, Ironi Nahariya, BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque, and Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem to spending the last two years with Ironi Hai Motors Ness Ziona.
