Talented Argentinian could get his chance in Barcelona and close the door on Brown’s arrival

Mundo Deportivo recently reported that Barcelona was interested in acquiring experienced point guard Lorenzo Brown, who is still under contract with Panathinaikos.

However, according to Chema de Lucas, the Catalan club is now preparing for the return of talented Juani Marcos from Bàsquet Girona — a move that would reportedly rule out Brown’s potential arrival.

Marcos began his career a decade ago in Argentina and, after four years with Peñarol de Mar del Plata, made the move to Barcelona. He played for Barcelona B, then went on loan to Lleida and later to Girona, where he made his ACB debut. He eventually left the club after five years and signed a deal with Girona.

In the 2024/25 season, Marcos played 28 games in the Spanish championship, averaging 8.3 points and 4.3 assists. His performances apparently caught Barcelona’s attention once again, and the club is reportedly working on bringing him back.
