Real Madrid and Hugo González have mutually agreed to end his time as a player at the club.
Following his recent ACB league championship with Real Madrid, Hugo was selected in the first round of the NBA draft by the Boston Celtics.
He is now set to begin his career in the NBA, pursuing new challenges across the Atlantic.
“Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude and affection for his exemplary behavior and dedication during all these years defending our shirt, and wishes him the best of luck in his new stage,” the club announced on its social media channels.
Since joining the youth academy in 2017, Hugo won two junior European titles, made his first team debut in 2022, and earned a place in Spain’s senior national team and Liga Endesa’s young all-star team.
