Jaylen Hoard penned a three-year contract extension with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The deal was announced on Tuesday.
Per the press release: “Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club and Jaylen Hoard signed a contract extension for three more years. This is a significant step in building the roster for the upcoming season, as the outstanding American-French forward is one of the team’s cornerstones.
“I’m very happy to announce the contract renewal of Jaylen Hoard,” said General Manager Claudio Coldebella. “This move shows how well Maccabi is operating, alongside Jaylen’s desire to remain with the club. He is a player on the rise, who still has a lot of room for improvement in the future and can become one of the best players in the EuroLeague.”
“Jaylen Hoard became a pillar of Maccabi last season, and we are all happy he’s staying with us,” coach Oded Kattash emphasized. “We saw tremendous qualities from him on both ends of the court and also off the court. He connected with the club and the team’s system excellently, and continuing with him is very important for us.”
Hoard himself added: “I’m very proud and grateful to continue this journey with Maccabi. We have unfinished business, and the focus is clear: reach our goals and keep moving forward. To our fans and community your passion motivates us and we feel it every day. I miss you guys and I will see you soon. Tzahov Ole”.
Jaylen Hoard joined Maccabi last summer after two years with the city rival. In his EuroLeague debut season, he averaged 14.7 points (61.6% on two-pointers), 5 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in 30 minutes per game (17.5 performance index rating). In the Israeli League, he posted 12.6 points (66.4% from two, 41.7% from three), 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals during the regular season.
Hoard repeatedly proved himself as a superb defender against any position, an impressive athlete, a player who rises to challenges, and a great locker room presence. With Maccabi, he won the Winner Cup and the State Cup and helped lead the team to first place in the league and all the way to the championship series, which was canceled before completion.”
