Xabi Lopez-Arostegui signed a two-year contract extension with Valencia.
The deal was announced by the EuroLeague club on Tuesday.
Per the press release: “Valencia Basket and the Spanish international forward Xabi López-Arostegui (2.00m, Getxo, 19/05/1997, 28 years old) have reached an agreement to extend the contract that binds both sides for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2027. As a result, the Basque swingman will continue to represent our men’s team for at least six seasons. The player joined our Club in the summer of 2021 from Joventut Badalona on a four-year contract. Since then, he has played a total of 226 games wearing our jersey, averaging 7.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 9.1 efficiency rating per game as a “taronja” player.
With the contract extension of Sergio De Larrea, the renewal of team captain Josep Puerto, and now Xabi López-Arostegui, along with the presence of Jaime Pradilla, our Club reaffirms its commitment to the current core of Spanish National Team players, all locally developed players, at this significant moment for the organization as it moves to the Roig Arena.”
Last season, Lopez-Arostegui was named to the All-EuroCup Second Team after averaging 10.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 0.9 steals per game in his fourth expedition in the second-tier club continental competition of EuroLeague Basketball. Returning to the premier club continental competition of Europe in the 2025-26 season, he is now set to add to his current tally of 56 appearances, all with Valencia.
