After declining an option on the contract with Mike Daum, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet officially ended the stint of the 29-year-old forward/center on Thursday.
Per the press release: “BC Crvena zvezda Meridianbet and Mike Daum have parted ways.
We thank Mike for his professionalism, dedication, and the respect he showed toward the club on and off the court. Wishing him all the best in the future and next chapter of his career.”
In his second EuroLeague season, the former South Dakota State standout produced 5.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest over 19 appearances, including 15 starts. In his 2023-24 journey in Europe’s premier club continental competition, he logged 11 games played with Anadolu Efes.
Displaying his talents in the AdmiralBet ABA League with the team coached by Giannis Sfairopoulos, Daum averaged 6.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game over 21 appearances. Beyond falling short in the Play-In Showdown at the continental level and being knocked out in the Semifinals of the regional league, the domestic campaign was headlined by winning the Radivoj Korac Cup.
The Nebraska native was not selected in the 2019 NBA draft, coming out of the Jackrabbits, but used overseas options to pursue a professional career. After two years with Monbus Obradoiro, he switched from Spain to Italy to join Bertram Derthona Tortona. Early in his third year, he signed with Efes and from there landed in Belgrade.
