The latest offseason transfer completed by LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne added Bastien Vautier to the team coached by Pierric Poupet.

The 26-year-old big inked a two-year contract, as announced on Tuesday.

From debuting in European club continental competitions with Cholet during the 2024-25 journey, between the Qualification Rounds of the Basketball Champions League and then the FIBA Europe Cup, the next assignment corresponds to the EuroLeague.

In 15 games between the BCL and Europe Cup, Vautier averaged 13.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.5 blocks per contest. At the domestic level, he added 11.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game over 27 appearances between the Betclic Elite and Leaders Cup.

Joining ASVEL will also add to his experience in the top tier of France. Coming out of the youth division of SLUC Nancy, he debuted with the senior team during the 2018-19 season. He was reduced to the second tier of his country over the next six years. Bouncing back to the first division in 2023 with ESSM Le Portel, his showings combined with being named to the French squad of the All-Star Game in both 2024 and 2025.

His new side previously secured the services of Zac Seljaas and Bodian Massa, while Melvin Ajinca, Nando de Colo, David Lighty, and Mbaye Ndiaye are also under contract for the next season. More roster adjustments are expected, heading to the next installments of the EuroLeague and domestic competitions in France.
