With the Memphis Grizzlies looking to bring in Tarik Biberovic and presenting him with an offer, the 24-year-old forward declined and instead reached an agreement with Fenerbahce Beko to ink a three-year contract extension.

His decisions were revealed by insider Yagız Sabuncuoglu and confirmed by Eurohoops on Wednesday.

The Grizzlies have controlled his NBA rights since drafting him in 2023, with the 56th overall pick. Besides the Tennessee franchise, three more teams joined in growing interest in his services, looking to possibly get him after a potential trade during the ongoing offseason and heading to the 2025-26 Regular Season. Re-signing until the end of the 2027-28 season, Biberovic is staying with Fener to continue in the EuroLeague and domestic competitions in Turkiye.

Since joining the Istanbul-based club in 2018, he played in 117 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games en route to becoming champion in Abu Dhabi last May. The 2024-25 journey in Europe’s premier club continental competition produced 10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.2 blocks per contest. In the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi, he averaged 9.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest over 29 appearances on the way to a third domestic league championship in his young career.

Internationally, the native of Zenica played for Bosnia-Herzegovina at the junior level, in the FIBA U16 European Championship 2016, before switching to Turkiye at the senior level and suiting up in two games of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers.
