Finishing a two-year adventure in Turkiye with Anadolu Efes, Darius Thompson is returning to Spain after already playing there in the 2022-23 season.
Staying in the country with Baskonia, that made him debut in the EuroLeague, he should now return to the ACB League with Valencia Basket, unless the Basque team matches the other team’s offer.
According to the tanteo rights rule, Baskonia has now five days to match Valencia‘s offer. Otherwise, the 30-year-old playmaker will join Pedro Martinez’s team.

Valencia would be his third time in the EuroLeague, already playing in the competition with Baskonia – named into the All-EuroLeague Second Team – and Anadolu Efes.
In the 2024-25 campaign, Darius Thompson has averaged 9.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game.
Previously, he has made his overseas debut with Leiden in the 2018-19 season before staying for two years in Brindisi from 2019 to 2021. Also, he played in the 2021-22 EuroCup with Lokomotiv Kuban.
