Real Madrid is set to bolster its backcourt with the addition of Italian wing Gabriele Procida, according to report by Chema de Lucas. The 23-year-old has reportedly rejected an offer from Virtus Bologna and will sign with the Spanish powerhouse.
Procida averaged 9.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in 26 EuroLeague games last season with ALBA Berlin, showing continued growth in his third year in the competition. His performances earned him the EuroLeague Rising Star award in 2024.
With ALBA Berlin departing the EuroLeague to join the FIBA Champions League, Procida became a sought-after free agent. Real Madrid moved quickly to secure the explosive wing, adding to their summer signings of Theo Maledon and David Kramer.
A former 36th overall NBA draft pick in 2022 began his pro career in Italy with Cantù and Fortitudo Bologna before stepping onto the EuroLeague stage.
