Anadolu Efes announced a 2+1 deal with Nick Weiler-Babb on Monday.

The 29-year-old guard was expected to join the team based in Istanbul, as reported by Eurohoops in mid-June. He was recently formally released from FC Bayern Munich to complete a switch to the fellow EuroLeague outfit.

Brilliant defensive showings were rewarded with the EuroLeague Best Defender award for the 2024-25 season. Over the last five years with Bayern, he logged 161 appearances in Europe’s premier club continental competition. Last year, he averaged 8.2 points, 4.9 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per contest over 34 appearances, all starts. He helped the team guided by Gordon Herbert qualify for the Play-In Showdown as the ninth seed of the Regular Season, but fell shy of a berth in the Playoffs.

His efforts in the easyCredit BBL resulted in 6.6 points, 5.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per contest, and a second straight domestic league championship in Germany. He won the annual BBL-Pokal three times. Also expanding to the senior national team of Germany since 2022, he played in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and captured bronze in the EuroBasket 2022.

Besides naming Igor Kokoskov as the new head coach, Efes previously added David Mutaf to the perimeter and is in advanced talks with Isaia Cordinier. With Salih Altuntas, Rodrigue Beaubois, PJ Dozier Jr., Shane Larkin, Ercan Osmani, Vincent Poirier, and Erkan Yilmaz under contract, more moves are expected to complete the 2025-26 squad.
