With Vasilije Micic joining Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, the deal with the Israeli club made him the highest-paid player in the EuroLeague.
Eurohoops revealed his decision to pen a three-year contract with Hapoel, which was later officially confirmed by the team. Per Eurohoops sources, the deal stretching to the end of the 2027-28 season is valued at €14 million.
Surpassing Kendrick Nunn of Panathinaikos Aktor, the total made him the highest-paid player in the league by a small margin.

Reaching an agreement on a contract buyout with the Milwaukee Bucks, following his latest involvement in an NBA trade, Micic recently became a free agent. Considering a return to the EuroLeague, several potential suitors emerged, with the team based in Tel Aviv eventually securing his services.
Focusing on the NBA over the last two years, the Serbian point guard logged 101 appearances with the Charlotte Hornets, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Phoenix Suns. Overall, he tallied 6.8 points, 3.9 assists, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.5 steals in 19.4 minutes per contest.
A veteran of 229 games in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, he won back-to-back championships with Anadolu Efes as the Most Valuable Player of the Final Four in 2021 and 2022. In the 2020-21 journey, he was also named season MVP.
The next assignment in Europe’s premier club continental competition is with the team coached by Dimitris Itoudis. Winning the 2024-25 installment of the BKT EuroCup clinched a berth in the next edition of the EuroLeague.
