Confirming a recent report by Chema de Lucas about being set to join Real Madrid, Gabriele Procida signed a three-year contract with Los Blancos.
Upon necessary medical tests performed at Hospital Blua Sanitas Valdebebas, the deal was announced on Friday.
Per the press release: “Real Madrid C.F. has reached an agreement with Gabriele Procida, a forward from ALBA Berlin, whereby the player will be linked to the club for the next three seasons, until 30 June 2028.
Formed in the youth academy of Pallacanestro Cantù, the club where he made his professional debut, he later played for Fortitudo Bologna before joining ALBA Berlin, where he was voted the best young player in the Euroleague in the 2023-2024 season. The 23-year-old Italian international joins Real Madrid after spending the last three seasons with the German club.”
The 23-year-old Italian winger, with NBA rights attached to the Utah Jazz, will continue in the EuroLeague, following 78 games played with ALBA Berlin over the last three years.
Back in 2022, the Como native was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the 36th overall pick of the annual NBA draft. His rights were immediately traded to the Detroit Pistons and were acquired by the Jazz in 2024.
