NBA veteran big man Richaun Holmes is weighing his next move, with two options on the table: a return to the NBA or a two-year deal with Panathinaikos, according to Eurohoops sources.
The 31-year-old power forward/center is reportedly waiting for a guaranteed NBA contract. If that doesn’t materialize soon, he is expected to commit to the Greek champions and join Ergin Ataman’s squad for the upcoming season.
Holmes last played for the Washington Wizards and brings a strong presence in the paint, with his athleticism and rim protection making him a valuable asset on both ends of the floor.
He has appeared in 489 NBA regular season games, averaging 8.5 points and 5.3 rebounds. His best season came in 2020–21 with the Sacramento Kings, when he posted career highs of 14.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
In the NBA, Holmes also played for the Phoenix Suns and the Philadelphia 76ers, who selected him with the 37th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
