Panathinaikos officially confirmed the signing of Richaun Holmes with a two-year deal (1+1) with the player arriving in Athens, Greece, on Friday night and passing today (9/8) his medical exams.
The deal was already announced by Panathinaikos’ owner, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, two days ago, who also said that this is expected to be the last summer signing of the team.
“Ι am here to fight, let’s go win the 8th trophy”, he said upon his arrival, setting the goal of winning in the upcoming 2025-26 season the 8th EuroLeague trophy in the history of Panathinaikos.
Holmes, 31, will join fellow former NBAers Kendrick Nunn and Jerian Grant, playing for the 2024 EuroLeague champions.
A veteran of 492 NBA games, Holmes began his career with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2015 after being selected with the 37th overall pick. He also played for the Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks, and the Washington Wizards.
In 2024-25, Holmes averaged 7.4 points, 5.7 rebounds in 31 games over 17.2 minutes.
