The naturalized point guard of Poland stole the show in the Eurobasket and he might change EuroLeague clubs

Jordan Loyd led Poland to the Eurobasket 2025 quarterfinals. He emerged as one of the standouts of the tournament, and on top of that, EuroLeague clubs are knocking on his door.

Loyd has a contract with Monaco, which will have to release him; however, with two more guards added recently, Frenchman David Michineau and veteran Serb Nemanja Nedovic, there are a lot of backcourt options on the roster.

Loyd, of course, was projected to have a key role in the team, but several EuroLeague clubs, most notably Real Madrid, have been in contact with his side.

According to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, there’s a deal between the player and Madrid, but all sides involved must also negotiate his release from Monaco.

On top of that, if Loyd ends up in Spain, then Real Madrid will have to negotiate also with Valencia, which has his “tanteo” right for the local league, can match any offer Madrid makes, and sign the player with the same contract.

Loyd was asked after the game between Turkey and Poland about his possible future in Real Madrid and his answer was : “No comment”.

It has to be noted that Loyd played under current Real Madrid coach Sergio Scariolo when both were members of the Toronto Raptors‘ NBA-championship-winning team.
