Real Madrid officially added Theo Maledon to the injury list on Thursday.
The 24-year-old point guard was sidelined indefinitely due to an injury in the adductor muscle of his left thigh. Further medical tests will perhaps provide a specific recovery timeline.
In July, Maledon penned a two-year contract to join Los Blancos.
Before focusing on his first season with the team based in the Spanish capital, he recently represented France in EuroBasket 2025, averaging 4.3 points and 2.2 assists per game over six appearances between a 4-1 run in Katowice’s Group D and elimination at the hands of Georgia in the Round of 16 at Riga. In the 2022 installment, he helped his country capture silver. Further senior international experience features the Qualifiers of the FIBA World Cup 2019 and 2023, and EuroBasket 2025.
The native of Rouen is a veteran of 55 EuroLeague appearances, spread between his 2024-25 and 2019-20 journeys with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. Packing 17.0 points, 4.6 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 0.2 blocks per contest last season, he was named to the All-EuroLeague Second Team. His new side will start the 2025-26 Regular Season on September 30, visiting Virtus Bologna at Paladozza.
Displaying his talents in the NBA from 2020 to 2024, he recorded 177 games played with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Charlotte Hornets, and Phoenix Suns. He was drafted in 2020, with the 34th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers, but was later traded to the Thunder.
