Monaco to receive buyout, Loyd to join Anadolu Efes for next season

Marc Stein recently reported that the two sides were close to an agreement, and according to Eurohoops sources, Jordan Loyd now has a deal with Anadolu Efes for next season, with Monaco receiving a buyout for releasing him.

The American guard, who shone at EuroBasket with the Polish national team as a naturalized player, had also been a target for Real Madrid. However, the Spanish club reportedly faced too many hurdles in securing his transfer from AS Monaco, with Valencia still holding Loyd’s tanteo rights, which complicated the situation.

Efes, meanwhile, moved quickly and decisively, eventually closing the deal. The Turkish club officially confirmed the move on Saturday (20/9) pending medical exams.

The former Valencia, Crvena zvezda, Zenit, and Maccabi Tel Aviv guard enjoyed a standout EuroBasket campaign, averaging 22.4 points across seven appearances and helping Poland reach the quarterfinals.
