Baskonia announced the addition of former NBA guard Markquis Nowell on a two-year deal.

The American point guard will arrive in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the coming days to join the final stretch of the preseason.
Baskonia adds a new member to its roster with the arrival of Markquis Nowell (New York, 1999), an American point guard from the G League. The player signs a contract until 2027 and will join Paolo Galbiati’s team in the coming days.
Nowell, who stands at 1.72 meters tall, stands out for his managerial ability, his vision, and his offensive talent. In the 2024-25 season, with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the G-League, he averaged 16.1 points, 8.3 assists, and 18.3 PIR in 49 games.
A graduate of Little Rock and Kansas State, he excelled in the NCAA, where he was recognized with the Bob Cousy Award for best college point guard, and delivered historic performances such as his 19 assists in a 2023 final tournament game.
With his signing, Baskonia adds a dynamic and ambitious point guard who will soon be working with the rest of the Barça squad.
