Partizan Belgrade announced the addition of Finnish NBA prospect and 2025 EuroBasket standout Miikka Muurinen. The 18-year-old forward is leaving his school in the USA and will begin his professional career in the EuroLeague.
Per Partizan president Ostoja Mijailovic, Muurinen signs a three-year-deal with the Serbian powerhouse.
At Partizan, Muurinen will get the opportunity to develop under Zeljko Obradovic, the winningest coach ever in the EuroLeague.
Muurinen’s agent had stated that his client is exploring options in Europe and Australia. His mother, former basketball player Jenni Laaksonen, mentioned earlier on Friday that her son has long admired the style of Serbian teams and Panathinaikos Athens.
In the recent EuroBasket, Muurinen averaged 6.6 points and 1.9 rebounds while Finland had a historic 4th-place finish. He was responsible for some of the most spectacular plays in the tournament, particularly with his dunks.
