Omari Moore’s debut in the Euroleague was something to remember. The new guard of Valencia, after shining in the Spanish SuperCopa, almost got a triple-double against ASVEL in the highest competition in Europe.
Moore, one of the most under-the-radar signings in the last off-season, put in a tremendous performance in Lyon. 12 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds to secure Pedro Martinez’s team’s win on their return to the Euroleague.
He was the go-to guy in the last minutes to get the win in France. He and Darius Thompson (15 points) were great offensively, breaking the wall ASVEL put on the court. After the game, he talked about the rival and the game plan.
“ASVEL has a lot of options, a lot of shooters. We wanted to minimize them and make their point guards uncomfortable, making them take shots they didn’t want to take. We forced them in the final possessions to make them uncomfortable”, Moore said after the game.
“We did very well, taking advantage of the advantages our defense gave us. It was a very tough game”, he added.
