Less than one year ago, Andreas Obst shattered the EuroLeague record, making 11 threes in a showcase against Barcelona.

Against Crvena Zvezda, he stopped at nine, and the bottom line is simple.

Obst is the most gifted shooter in Europe, proving it once more, and when he explained his mindset, it’s easy to understand why.

As he said:  “Just let the game come to me, ready to shoot all the time. I got confidence; bad shots don’t really exist for me. So I enjoy taking them, and my teammates trust me. It’s a team thing also; they play for me, I got the confidence to shoot it, so yeah, keep shooting.”

This performance comes after Obst staying scoreless on the opening night in Athens, but at home in Munich, the story was different: “It’s always good to start the season with a home win. A road game against Panathinaikos is always tough for sure. We could have done better, but it’s a long season, and the competition is tough. So we cannot be sad, we have to regroup fast and focus on the next game”.

Coach Gordon Herbert added, when asked to comment on his sharp shooter: “He came off the bench, started making shots, and obviously made a big difference tonight, but he can do more than just shoot the basketball. It was an unbelievable shooting performance”.
