After a three-year legal battle, the court process has been concluded, with Mitrović, currently coach of Cedevita Olimpija, emerging as the winner per French outlet BeBasket.

Mitrović took over ASVEL in 2018 and led the team to the French championship in his first season. However, despite having a three-year contract, he was dismissed in 2020.

ASVEL accused him of damaging the club’s image due to a series of technical fouls and inappropriate behavior during matches. Since he did not receive the full amount he was entitled to, Mitrović went to court. After three years, it was decided that ASVEL must pay him €481,464. Additionally, ASVEL must cover €2,000 in court costs, totaling €483,464.

After leaving ASVEL, Mitrović coached Monaco, Galatasaray and has been with Cedevita Olimpija since 2024. Previously, he worked with Mogren, Buducnost, Khimik, Kryvbas, Budivelnyk, and Azovmash. He also coached the national team of Montenegro.
