Crvena Zvezda celebrated in the fourth round of the EuroLeague on their home court, as the Serbian team defeated Zalgiris with a score of 88-79.
This was also Sasa Obradovic’s first game since returning to Zvezda. Obradovic, a former Crvena Zvezda player and lifelong supporter, had previously coached the team, but during the COVID-19 pandemic he was unable to feel the energy from the stands.
Now, that has changed, and at the post-game press conference, Obradovic spoke specifically about the fans.
“The support of the best fans in the world was decisive. It means a lot to me personally because I couldn’t experience the sweetness of this before—I could only feel it as an opposing coach. First of all, thank them, and let them stay with us. I promise we will be better moving forward.”
After this win, Zvezda stands at 2-2, and in the next game will host Real Madrid in a true spectacle (Friday, 19:00).
