Nate Sestina has been released from his contract with Valencia.
The EuroLeague outfit announced his departure on Wednesday.
Per the press release: “Valencia Basket has reached an agreement with American power forward Nate Sestina (2.05m, Emporium, Pennsylvania, 05/12/1997, 28 years old) to terminate the contract that linked both sides until the end of the current season, meaning the player is no longer part of our Club.
Sestina has taken part in the three EuroLeague games of the 2025–26 season, averaging 2 points and 2.3 rebounds. Since joining our men’s team in the summer of 2024 from Fenerbahçe Beko Istanbul, Nate has worn the taronja jersey on 66 occasions.
The Club would like to thank Sestina for his professionalism, commitment, and hard work during his time representing Valencia Basket, and wishes him all the best in his future, both professionally and personally.”
Over recent days, the experienced forward/center has been linked with a move to fellow EuroLeague participant, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. With Vlatko Cancar, Zach LeDay, Josh Nebo, and Leonardo Tote on the injury list, the Italian side scanned the market for an additional healthy option in the paint.
Sestina, a former Kentucky standout in the NCAA, is a veteran of 38 appearances in Europe’s premier club continental competition, spread between his 2023-24 Final Four journey with Fenerbahce Beko, and 2.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per contest over three games this season with the Taronges. In his first year with Valencia, he upped his BKT EuroCup tally to 43 appearances, combined with the 2022-23 season as a Turk Telekom player.
