It was a very eventful day in Valencia, but when it comes to basketball, there was a clear winner.
Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv grabbed its third win of the season after defeating Valencia Basket 100-93.
In a game played without fans in the stands, the guests made the most of the situation and dominated throughout the game.
Vasilije Micic had his best game of the season, finishing with 24 points, 6 assists, and being able to control what and when happened everything on the floor, just like the old days.
Elijah Bryant was his best squire (16 p., 6 r.), with Antonio Blakeney (17 p.) and Johnathan Motley (14 p.) joining them in the double-digit club.
Omari Moore (21 p.) and Darius Thompson (13 p., 6 r., 8 as.) weren’t enough for Valencia, which was forced to a second straight defeat.
Valencia Basket was never ahead on the scoreboard, which tells a lot about Hapoel Tel Aviv’s performance, as it managed to escape from Roig Arena with the “W” despite a late surge from the home team.
Matt Costello had the chance to tie the game with 2:31 to play, but couldn’t score two free throws to complete the comeback, and Hapoel kept a one-point advantage (91-90) and got a solid lead after that with former Valencia guard Chris Jones scoring five straight points (96-92).
