Fenerbahce got the home win after three straight defeats and coach Jasikevicius hopes that his team learned its lesson

Fenerbahce managed to prevail with ease over Bayern Munich, and after three straight defeats, the defending champions finally got their second win in the EuroLeague season.

“Frankly, I don’t think we were nervous in the first quarter; we just wanted to do too many things at once”, said coach Sarunas Jasikevicius in his post-game flash interview.

As Saras explained, he was happy with the mentality of his team, which is still missing the newcomers trio of Talen Horton-Tucker, Brandon Boston, and Armando Bacot, but on the other hand, demonstrated fighting spirit: “We fought from the very beginning. At this point in the season, we realized we couldn’t win by playing great basketball. We’re still not ready; we’re dealing with too many problems. So we had to fight, play physically, and play good defense. And that’s what we did today, starting in the second quarter.”

And also, making 13 out of 27 threes helped, and this kind of shooting was missing in the three losses: “We haven’t been shooting well for a while, but we did today. We also had 16 turnovers, which isn’t bad considering we had nine in the first quarter alone.”

Wade Baldwin echoed his coach: “A club like Fenerbahçe rarely loses three games in a row, especially at the start of the season. So we approached this game as if it were a final. The previous game was an embarrassing loss at home (ed. note: to Dubai), so similarly winning today will boost our morale.”
