Panathinaikos achieved a convincing victory in the fifth round of the EuroLeague, beating Anadolu Efes away by a score of 95-81.
The top scorer for the winning team was Cedi Osman, who scored 29 points and grabbed five rebounds. Omar Yurtseven was also excellent with 15 points, and together they compensated for a weaker performance from Kendrick Nunn, who scored only four points.
On the other side, Shane Larkin led the scorers with 18 points and five assists. Anadolu Efes lost both Ercan Osmani and Georgios Papagiannis to injury already in the first half, which was clearly felt in the Turkish team’s game. After an even first half, PAO dominated the third quarter 26-10, breaking the opponent’s resistance.
After five rounds, Panathinaikos is at the top of the EuroLeague with a 4-1 record and will visit Virtus in the next round. Efes, on the other hand, has two wins and three losses, and are looking ahead to a city derby against Fenerbahce.
