Round 6 of the EuroLeague brought the first Istanbul derby of the season.
After 40 minutes of a hard-fought battle, Fenerbahce defeated Anadolu Efes on the road with a final score of 69-79.
Scottie Wilbekin and Devon Hall led the scoring for the winners with 12 points each, while Wade Baldwin flirted with a triple-double — 10 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists — though he also had seven turnovers. Bonzie Colson followed with 10 points and six rebounds.
On the other side, Nick Weiler-Babb stood out for Anadolu Efes with 17 points. Shane Larkin added 13 points and nine assists, while Isaïa Cordinier contributed 10 points.
The score was tied after 30 minutes of play, and Fenerbahce opened the final period with an 8–0 run. Anadolu Efes fought back and came within four points (62–66), but Wilbekin pushed the visitors back with another three-pointer.
Šarūnas Jasikevičius’s side managed to keep control and pulled away to a 77–67 lead entering the final 80 seconds, which proved enough for the derby win.
