Olympiacos got the road win over Bayern Munich, and coach Giorgos Bartzokas was asked in the press conference if the team intends to sign a player.

Bartzokas said before the game that he hasn’t asked for an additional player, but he explained the situation and his approach.

As he said: “The truth is that we are always in the market because this is our job. You’ve seen that Bayern has signed Dinwiddie, and they have a very good roster, so all the teams are having a very deep roster because this is the new era of the EuroLeague. Playing 90 games per year, you need a lot of players, and for us, it was important to see all the players together on the court”.

This is what keeps Olympiacos from making a decision, as Bartzokas added: “So far, we have had a lot of absences. We will decide after watching our team practicing all together, and performing on the court. We have Papanikolaou out, and we have also Keenan Evans out. That means we don’t have to make a fast decision to add any players if we don’t have a clear view of our team playing together”.

And speaking about what kind of player he intends to sign, he elaborated further: “I know that the whole conversation in our country is to add one more scorer. So we have Evan Fournier, Tyler Dorsey, Sasha Vezenkov, and we need to add one more scorer… Ok, it’s a perspective, we scored 100 points. I think I know my job. I am not negative about signing any player, but we will sign a player that I believe, my coaching staff believes, and the whole team believes that he is going to give some help to us. Not someone that the media want, or the social media”.
