Euroleague Basketball announces the latest disciplinary sanctions, sanctioning Ergin Ataman, Oded Kattash, and Ofer Yannay

Ergin Ataman, Oded Kattash, and Ofer Yannay have been issued fines by Euroleague Basketball for recent actions and statements.

The latest disciplinary sanctions were announced by Euroleague Basketball on Tuesday.

Per the press release: “Euroleague Basketball has announced the following disciplinary decision pertaining to incidents that occurred between Rounds 5 and 6 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season.

Round 6

  • Mr. Ergin Ataman, Head Coach of Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, has been sanctioned with a fine of €8,000 for committing acts representing a lack of respect against the officiating crew on occasion of the game Anadolu Efes Istanbul – Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

Round 5

  • Mr Oded Kattash, Head Coach of Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv, has been sanctioned with a fine of €5,000 for statements regarding officiating on occasion of the game Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv  – Olympiacos Piraeus, under Article 24.2.c) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

Others

  • Mr Ofer Yannay, President of Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv, has been sanctioned with a fine of €5,000 for social media statements representing a lack of respect against another person, under Article 24.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.”

EuroLeague action resumes with Round 7, launching a two-game week on Tuesday evening. With all 20 teams facing each other twice, home and away, a total of 38 games will decide the top six seeds to advance directly to the Playoffs and the next four to earn a second opportunity in the Play-In Showdown.
