Despite the triumph, there will be reasons for concern for Ergin Ataman

Panathinaikos secured a win in the seventh round of the EuroLeague, defeating Maccabi in Athens with a score of 99-85.

However, the team lost Richaun Holmes. The center of the Greek team suffered a new injury in his knee after a collision with John DiBartolomeo.

After that, he immediately went for further examinations, and in his first statement after the game, Ergin Ataman stated that he expects to be without him for the next month.

“They told me it’s a serious injury, but we hope it’s not too serious. At least one month off, I hope it’s not more serious than that, but we will see tomorrow.”

The official diagnosis, however, was announced a bit later, confirming that a knee injury would keep the player out of action for one month.

The silver lining for Panathinaikos is that, as Ataman said in the press conference, Mathias Lessort may return soon: “He is expected to start practices next week; if all goes well, he will be our new addition.

After seven games, Panathinaikos has five wins and two losses, and in the next round, on Friday, they will visit Monaco.
