The writing was on the wall since the end of last season, and finally, Monaco released Nick Calathes, permitting him to join Partizan until the end of the summer of 2026.

The impending deal, which was already reported, has been completed, and the official announcement is expected soon.

Calathes didn’t travel with the rest of the team to Athens for the upcoming game against Olympiacos, and he is not registered anymore in the EuroLeague with Monaco.

The all-time EuroLeague leader in assists and steals was crowned Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion in 2011, in his first of two separate spells at Panathinaikos and under the guidance of the nine-time champion coach Zeljko Obradovic in Europe’s premier club continental competition. After averaging 3.7 points and 3.8 assists per game over 13 appearances in the 2024-25 installment, he has yet to formally start his 14th EuroLeague journey.

Addressing several injuries early on the 2025-26 schedule, Partizan has been active on the market seeking additional healthy options. Besides Carlik Jones (foot), Shake Milton (ankle), and Mario Nakic (knee surgery) remaining sidelined, Jabari Parker (hand) and Aleksej Pokusevski (head) were hurt in Round 4 of the AdmiralBet ABA League Regular Season on Sunday.

Carrying a 3-3 W-L tally into the next two-game week of the EuroLeague Regular Season, the upcoming challenges are against Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv in Arena 888 Sofia on Wednesday and FC Barcelona in Belgrade Arena on Friday.
