Olimpia Milano recorded a victory in the ninth round of the EuroLeague, defeating Anadolu Efes on the road after two overtimes with a score of 97-93.
A few sentences are not enough to describe everything we witnessed in Istanbul. The visitors had a significant lead, and it seemed they would secure an easy win, but Efes made a comeback driven by PJ Dozier, whose points forced the game into overtime.
Ercan Osmani had a chance to secure the win for the Turks but missed from a difficult position. In the first overtime, Efes was closer to victory, but Shavon Shields hit a three-pointer, and after Dozier’s miss, the game went into a second overtime.
There, Milano somehow survived the free-throw conclusion and clinched a triumph in Turkey.
The top scorer for the winning team was Zach LeDay with 25 points, while Shavon Shields added 24 points, along with five rebounds and four assists.
Efes was not helped even by an incredible PJ Dozier with 34 points, while Nick Weiler-Babb added 16 and Ercan Osmani 14 points.
After this game, Efes stands at a 3-6 record and will seek their fourth win in Bologna against Virtus. On the other hand, this was the fourth win for Ettore Messina’s team, who will now host ASVEL.
