Dubai returned to the winning track in the EuroLeague by defeating Crvena Zvezda at home, ending the Belgrade team’s seven-game winning streak.
After the match, coach Jurica Golemac revealed that his team’s point guard, Nate Mason, had recently undergone surgery and that the win was dedicated to him.
“First of all, Nate Mason had surgery, and this win is for him,” Golemac said. “As for the game, I feel great. We recorded 24 assists, showing the focus, physical strength, and intelligence we need to play at this level.”
Kenan Kamenjaš, who had an outstanding performance with a PIR of 29, also highlighted Mason.
“A big win for us against a great team, probably the best in the EuroLeague at the moment. We played well from the first minute. Now we have to turn our focus to the game against Žalgiris. This win is for Nate Mason,” Kamenjaš said.
Mason has not played a single game this season due to a cervical disc injury and the subsequent surgery, which will keep him off the court for some time.
Dubai was also without Mfiondu Kabengele, Dzanan Musa, and Justin Anderson, while Mam Jaiteh is sidelined for the remainder of the season due to an Achilles injury.
