Panathinaikos wins in Madrid (77-87) after a great performance

Panathinaikos conquered Madrid, and it was easier even than what the final score suggests (77-87).

The Greek team needed the win after two losses in its last three EuroLeague games, having also beaten Paris earlier this week.

TJ Shorts (19 p.), Kenneth Faried (16 p.), and Cedi Osman (15 p.) were Panathinaikos‘ top scorers.

Faried also dominated with four offensive rebounds over Edy Tavares.  For Real Madrid, only Andres Feliz (18 p.) had a good game.

Panathinaikos had a strong start, with Kendrick Nunn and TJ Shorts being hot in the first quarter (16-22). Kostas Sloukas for Panathinaikos and Theo Maledon for the hosts put on a show from the bench, and the Greeks led at the break (38-52) thanks to an already big night from Faried.

Andres Feliz stepped up in the second half for Real, but it wasn’t enough to stop Panathinaikos’s pace. Panathinaikos now has a 7-4 record in the Euroleague, while Real Madrid dropped to 5-6.
