A new date for the meeting of Virtus Bologna and Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv is possible

In Round 12 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season, Virtus Bologna and Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv are scheduled to face each other in PalaDozza next Friday. However, the fixture can be postponed.

Requesting the game to be rescheduled on a later date, local police have brought up the danger from potential clashes outside the venue due to pro-Palestinian protests, as explained by Italian outlet la Repubblica on Friday. Coordinating with authorities and involved teams, Euroleague Basketball can decide to postpone the game.

According to the current schedule, the Italian club is set to move the remaining home games from PalaDozza to a new Virtus Arena, previously known as Virtus Segafredo Arena, starting from December. Therefore, the fixture opposite Maccabi being postponed would likely also change the venue.

At 5-5 and 3-8, respectively, the Italian and Israeli sides are outside of the Play-In Showdown zone, with Vu Nere on the wrong end of a three-way tie in tenth place, the lowest seed leading to a second opportunity to qualify for the Playoffs 2026.

On a related note, the team coached by Dusko Ivanovic is the only remaining team with a perfect home record in the ongoing edition of Europe’s premier club competition. A fourth win in as many PalaDozza showings was on Tuesday against Anadolu Efes.

Beyond the EuroLeague, the Bologna and Tel Aviv outfits enjoy a leading position in the Regular Season of Italy’s LBA UnipolSai and Israel’s Winner League behind 6-1 and 5-0 domestic tallies.
