Real Madrid secured a tough win in the home arena of the EuroLeague leaders.

Coach Sergio Scariolo’s team won in Bulgaria against Hapoel (75-74), surviving in the closing seconds a missed, contested three by Vasa Micic.

Hapoel Tel Aviv has a 9-4 record after the loss and remains at the top of the standings, probably not alone anymore, while Madrid bounces back at 7-6.

For Real Madrid, Mario Hezonja (19 p.) and Facundo Campazzo (11 p.) led the way in scoring. Alex Len was back on the bench after the ankle injury, but didn’t play.

Antonio Blakeney (14 p.) and Chris Jones (14 p.) were Hapoel’s top scorers.

Real Madrid closed the first half leading 39-36, and the score was 75-74 with one minute left, after Hapoel’s Jonathan Motley trimmed the lead with a big three.

Both teams had the chance to score, Madrid three times and Hapoel two, but nobody could put the ball in the basket.
