Bayern Munich announced on Wednesday that TJ Parker has left the club, and Gordon Herbert is returning to the Bavarian bench after missing several previous games.
Herbert will also receive significant reinforcement as Josh Oppenheimer becomes the new assistant coach for Bayern.
Oppenheimer (photo) has spent his entire coaching career as an assistant. For the first 10 years, he worked at colleges in the US, and he made his NBA debut with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he played from 2013 to 2016.
He worked for a year with the Houston Rockets and returned to the Milwaukee bench in 2020, where he worked until 2024. He served as an assistant for the Greek national team in 2022 and, since 2024, has been part of the coaching staff at the NCAA college Oklahoma Sooners.
Bayern is currently in 16th place in the EuroLeague, with a record of 5-8. Also, the German team has lost the last four elite matches.
